Ilagan Claims PDC Asian Championship Crown, Punches Ticket to Grand Slam Debut!

Lourence Ilagan triumphed over fellow Filipino Sandro Eric Sosing to win the 2024 PDC Asian Championship title in Manila, clinching the victory with a 7-3 scoreline. This win not only earned him the top prize of $15,000 but also marked his entry into next month’s Mr. Vegas Grand Slam of Darts. Throughout the tournament, Ilagan showcased his skill by defeating notable competitors, including securing wins against Royden Lam and Woonghee Han in the round-robin phase, and overcoming John Marco Lumilang, Reynaldo Rivera, and Jenn Ming Tan in the knockout stages.

In the final match, Ilagan started strong with an early break of throw, maintaining a lead despite a comeback attempt from Sosing, who reduced the gap to 4-3. However, Ilagan quickly regained control, ultimately sealing the victory with a solid performance that included a 92.71 average and four 180s. Sosing, who also performed admirably throughout the tournament, will make his return to the World Darts Championship alongside his semi-final opponent Lok Yin Lee. Ilagan’s impressive run in the championship solidified his status as a top contender in the darting world.
