Van Veen Makes History as First Dutch Winner of Winmau World Youth Championship

Gian van Veen triumphed in the PDC Winmau World Youth Championship on Sunday night, defeating Jurjen van der Velde 6-5 in a dramatic final. Van der Velde had a strong start, leading 2-0 with two 70 finishes, but Van Veen fought back to take the lead. After a thrilling back-and-forth, Van der Velde had multiple chances to win, missing five match darts. Van Veen capitalized, winning the final leg with an 82 checkout, including a bullseye, to claim his first World Youth Championship title. Van Veen became the first Dutch player to win the prestigious event, acknowledging his opponent’s performance and missed opportunities.
