Humphries Defeats Littler to Retain Ladbrokes Players Championship Finals Title

Luke Humphries successfully retained his Ladbrokes Players Championship Finals title with an 11-7 win over Luke Littler in a thrilling final. Humphries, the world number one, withstood a remarkable performance from Littler, who hit four ton-plus checkouts, including finishes of 170 and 164. Despite Littler’s efforts, Humphries took advantage of early missed chances and built an insurmountable lead to secure the £120,000 prize and his second consecutive title. Littler, although impressive with his finishes, could not recover from his slow start in the match.

Humphries praised Littler’s talent and acknowledged his own perseverance throughout the match. Both players are now focused on the upcoming World Darts Championship, where they are seen as top contenders. Littler, who reached the final in his debut Players Championship Finals, earned £60,000 in prize money, pushing him to fourth on the PDC Order of Merit. The victory capped off a spectacular event, with Humphries’ performance solidifying his status as one of the top players in the world.
