Danny Noppert, James Wade, and Ross Smith were among the eight players who secured their places in the 2024 Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts during the Tour Card Holder Qualifier in Leicester. The event, which took place at the Mattioli Arena, saw 99 players compete for the coveted spots in the £650,000 tournament. Noppert, the highest-ranked player in the qualifier, defeated compatriot Danny van Trijp 5-1 to qualify for his sixth Grand Slam appearance. Wade breezed through his matches with dominant wins over Simon Whitlock, Florian Hempel, and Michele Turetta, while Smith sealed his spot after a dramatic 5-4 win over Jeffrey de Graaf.
Martin Lukeman was the standout performer, averaging over 103 in each of his victories to secure his Grand Slam debut, alongside Mickey Mansell, who knocked out both Raymond van Barneveld and Gerwyn Price. Keane Barry also made his Grand Slam debut with a 5-2 win over Thibault Tricole, and Cameron Menzies continued his strong form from his recent Players Championship triumph to qualify. Ryan Joyce completed the list of eight qualifiers, defeating Damon Heta and Nick Kenny. High-profile names like Gerwyn Price, Jonny Clayton, and Nathan Aspinall missed out on qualification, while reigning champion Luke Humphries and other top names like Michael Smith and Rob Cross are set to compete in the event, which will take place from November 9-17 at WV Active Aldersley.
