Luke Littler has been named Google’s ‘Athlete of the Year’ in their 2024 Year in Search results. The 17-year-old darts sensation had an extraordinary year, reaching the World Darts Championship final and winning major titles such as the Premier League, World Series of Darts Finals, and Grand Slam of Darts. Littler also ranked third in the People of the Year list, behind Kate Middleton and Donald Trump. Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Littler hopes his success will inspire more young people to take up darts. His rise in the sport has also earned him nominations for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year and Young Sports Personality of the Year awards.
