Littler Crowned 2024 BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year

Luke Littler was named the 2024 BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year, following an impressive rise in the world of darts. His remarkable achievements in 2024 included winning the Premier League, World Series of Darts Finals, and Grand Slam of Darts, along with ten tournament victories. Littler’s influence in raising darts’ profile was also acknowledged at the BBC awards ceremony, where he was presented with the trophy by Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and Jodie Ounsley. Skateboarder Sky Brown and Para-swimmer William Ellard were also nominees for the award.

Littler also finished as the runner-up in the main BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards, losing out to Olympic 800m gold medallist Keely Hodgkinson. Reflecting on his success, Littler expressed his gratitude for the support he received, stating, “It’s a huge honour for me to win Young Sports Personality of the Year and finish second for Sports Personality.” Darts legend Phil Taylor congratulated Littler on his achievement, calling it a “massive achievement.”
