Littler Climbs into World Top Five After Grand Slam Victory

Luke Littler has surged into the top five of the PDC Order of Merit after winning his first televised ranking title at the Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton. The 17-year-old defeated Martin Lukeman 16-3 in the final, following a dramatic semi-final victory over Gary Anderson. Littler’s impressive tournament performance, which included wins over top players like Keane Barry and Dimitri Van den Bergh, saw him average 104.99, propelling him to fifth place on the PDC Order of Merit.

Meanwhile, Gary Anderson’s semi-final run helped him climb to 13th, while Michael van Gerwen surpassed Michael Smith to become the new world number two. Other notable movers include Stephen Bunting, now in the top eight, and Dimitri Van den Bergh, who returned to the top ten. Peter Wright dropped out of the top 16 for the first time in a decade, and Josh Rock also saw a decline. New entrants like Martin Lukeman, who reached the final, and Mickey Mansell, who reached the semi-finals, saw significant improvements in their rankings. The PDC Order of Merit will be further influenced by the upcoming Players Championship Finals in November.
