Littler and Anderson to Face Off in Thrilling Semi-Final Clash in Wolverhampton
Luke Littler and Gary Anderson advanced to the semi-finals of the Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts after dominant victories in the quarter-finals. Littler produced a record-breaking performance, thrashing Jermaine Wattimena 16-2 in under 28 minutes, marking the heaviest quarter-final defeat in the tournament’s history. The 17-year-old showcased his exceptional form with seven 180s and four ton-plus checkouts, including a 110 finish, securing a spot in his first Grand Slam semi-final. Meanwhile, Anderson fought off a strong challenge from Gian van Veen, winning 16-14 in a thrilling match that saw the Dutchman rally after a slow start.
Littler’s remarkable performance was matched by Anderson’s perseverance, as the two-time World Champion maintained his composure to hold off Van Veen’s resurgence. Despite Van Veen’s impressive 108 tournament average, Anderson’s consistency, highlighted by several crucial checkouts, helped him stay ahead. The semi-final clash between Littler and Anderson promises to be an exciting showdown, pitting the youngest player in the tournament against the oldest. The 2024 Grand Slam will conclude with a dramatic final, as the remaining players compete for the prestigious Eric Bristow Trophy and the £150,000 prize.
