Luke Humphries claimed his second Gambrinus Czech Darts Open title with a commanding 8-1 victory over Kim Huybrechts in Prague. Throughout the tournament, Humphries showcased an outstanding performance, losing only 11 legs across five matches and securing the £30,000 top prize. He began his campaign with a series of 6-2 wins and maintained his momentum, culminating in a scintillating semi-final against Luke Littler, where he averaged 108.56 to deny the 17-year-old a third European Tour title of the year.
In the final, Humphries quickly established control with consecutive 16-darters, and despite Huybrechts momentarily reducing the deficit, Humphries responded with three straight 12-darters, including an impressive 132 checkout. Huybrechts, who had a remarkable run to the final despite initially not qualifying for the event, expressed his satisfaction with reaching the final stage and aims to improve in the coming year. This victory marked Humphries’ seventh European Tour title, as he reflected on his desire to continue enhancing his game moving forward.
