Rob Cross secured his second title of 2025 with a dominant 8-3 victory over Joe Cullen in the Players Championship One final in Wigan. The 2018 World Champion delivered a series of impressive performances, posting three ton-plus averages and capping his run with a 104.6 average and five 180s in the final. Cross overcame a tough route to the title, including a comeback win over Andrew Gilding in the semi-finals, before sealing his tenth Players Championship crown and the £15,000 top prize.
Cullen, seeking his first PDC ranking title since 2022, showed strong form by defeating World Champion Luke Littler and world number one Luke Humphries en route to the final. Despite a valiant effort, he was unable to stop Cross, who produced a clinical 129 checkout and an 11-dart break to secure victory. The PDC ProTour season continues with Players Championship 2, where Cross will look to maintain his strong start.
