Cameron Menzies secured his first-ever PDC ranking title with an 8-4 victory over Stephen Bunting in the final of Players Championship 29 in Leicester. The win capped a dominant run for Menzies, who defeated six televised title winners throughout the day and collected the £15,000 top prize. This triumph elevates the Scottish darts player into the top ten of the Players Championship Order of Merit. Menzies’ day included standout victories, including a 107 average against Rob Cross in the third round and a 7-1 win over Danny Noppert in the semi-finals.
Despite Bunting’s strong comeback in the final, including an impressive 120 checkout, Menzies kept his composure to seal the win. Bunting, a five-time runner-up in 2024, continued his consistent form but was denied his first ProTour title of the year. The tournament also featured remarkable moments, such as nine-darters from Callan Rydz, Ricardo Pietreczko, and Chris Landman. The ProTour season concluded with Players Championship 30, as the race to qualify for the Ladbrokes Players Championship Finals intensified.
