Humphries Triumphs Over Dobey to Claim Night One Victory in Belfast

Luke Humphries made a dominant start to the 2025 BetMGM Premier League season, securing a 6-1 victory over Chris Dobey on Night One in Belfast. Humphries, who recently won the Winmau World Masters, showcased his form by defeating Nathan Aspinall, Michael van Gerwen, and Dobey, earning five points on the opening night. Humphries averaged 105 in his quarter-final win over Aspinall and held off Van Gerwen in a dramatic semi-final. In the final, he executed impressive checkouts, including 128 and 100 combinations, and converted six of seven doubles to seal the win.

Dobey, who won in Belfast two years ago, also impressed, with victories over Gerwyn Price and Rob Cross. He hit six doubles from ten attempts in his quarter-final match against Price and produced big checkouts in his win over Cross. In other notable matches, Van Gerwen edged past Luke Littler in a high-quality last-eight clash, while Cross defeated Stephen Bunting. The Premier League continues on February 13 in Glasgow, with Humphries and Dobey set for a rematch in the final.
