Gerwyn Price surged to his first PDC ranking title of 2026 with an emphatic 8-1 win over Andrew Gilding at Players Championship Six.
Runner-up at Event Two, Price went one better at the Mattioli Arena, posting a 102.82 tournament average and conceding just 14 legs across seven matches to climb to the top of the Players Championship standings.

“I thought I played decent today,” reflected Price.
“There were one or two games where I wasn’t at my best – even in the final – but I had enough in the tank.
“It’s a big night for me in the Premier League [on Thursday], so it’s great to get a bit of confidence by winning this and I’m looking forward to tomorrow now.
“I’m feeling good. Two years ago I had the worst year I’ve ever had in the PDC, so I’m defending absolutely nothing this year.
“Whoever is above me, I’m going to catch them!”
Price opened with commanding 6-1 wins over Cristo Reyes and Maik Kuivenhoven, before dispatching Lukas Wenig. He averaged 109.48 in beating Scott Waites and 108.59 against Kevin Doets, then overcame World Cup partner Jonny Clayton 7-4 in the semi-finals.
In the final, Price raced 3-0 ahead and sealed victory with a five-leg burst, including a superb 153 checkout.
Gilding, contesting his first Players Championship final since 2022, defeated Ross Smith and Thibault Tricole to reach the decider.
Elsewhere, Beau Greaves made history with a nine-darter, while David Sharp and Christian Kist also impressed in Leicester.
