PDC President Barry Hearn underwent successful prostate surgery after being inspired by The BIG 180 campaign, which promotes early detection of prostate cancer through a quick risk checker and raises funds for Prostate Cancer UK. Hearn credited the campaign for encouraging him to address his own health and now advocates for men to prioritize regular checks, emphasizing its life-saving potential.
The enhanced 2024/25 BIGGER 180 campaign aims for 180,000 risk checks and pledges £180,000 for every nine-dart finish, supporting Prostate Cancer UK, players, and fans. With over £500,000 raised so far, the campaign funds groundbreaking trials for earlier prostate cancer detection, saving lives and increasing awareness within the darts community.
