Antwerp’s Epic Premier League Milestone

Antwerp’s AFAS Dome played host to a historic night of BetMGM Premier League action last Thursday, as the sport’s biggest roadshow visited Belgium for the first time.

Gerwyn Price prevailed on a landmark night on Belgian soil, defeating Michael van Gerwen 6-3 to deny the Dutch superstar back-to-back nightly wins. The Welshman averaged 104.44 in a high-quality final, defying successive 167 and 160 checkouts from Van Gerwen to storm up to second in the league table.

Earlier in the night, Price recorded 6-5 victories over Gian van Veen and his compatriot Jonny Clayton, who make up the current top four following Night Two. Clayton fought back brilliantly to stun Stephen Bunting in his quarter-final tie in Antwerp, rallying from 4-0 down with a remarkable six-leg blitz, featuring legs of 15, 11, 13, 14, 13 and 12 darts.

Van Gerwen’s run to a second successive nightly final began with a resounding 6-2 victory over Josh Rock, which he backed up with a 6-4 success against World Champion Luke Littler.

Littler had opened his 2026 account in the evening’s opener against Luke Humphries, as the world’s top two players went head-to-head in a captivating contest. Humphries looked poised to condemn the world number one to back-to-back defeats after establishing a 5-4 cushion, only to spurn three match darts in the decider as Littler prevailed with a 105 average.
