The Mayor Bruce Matabalao 500K National Dart Tournament, held December 4-7 at City Mall of Cotabato in celebration of the Shariff Kabunsuan Festival, brought together the nation’s top darting talent in a thrilling National Ranking Event sanctioned by the National Darts Federation of the Philippines (NDFP). Competing on the official Robson Razor Bladewire Dartboard, 94 players battled for supremacy in the highly competitive Open Singles division.

Emerging victorious was Johnray Sajol of GMD SPV, who showcased remarkable precision and composure to take the title, defeating Alex Tagarao of Kian’s Grill CDO in a hard-fought final. Sharing third and fourth places were Jhay Doria (Pacman) and Albert Dela Serna (Arby’s/Mr. 26), while the top eight was rounded out by Kevin Benavente (GMD SPV), Sonny Balagat (Overtime), Marion Omac (Kumpadres), and Oliver Ladores (Jomsa). Notable performances in the top 16 included Mark Canapi, Aris Quijano, Bobby Geba, Mark Lumilang, and Ryan Galceran, underscoring the depth of talent on display.
Sajol’s victory highlighted his strategic gameplay and steady nerves under pressure, cementing his status as a rising force in Philippine darts. The tournament not only celebrated the rich culture of the Shariff Kabunsuan Festival but also emphasized the growing competitiveness and professionalism of darts in the country, setting the stage for future national ranking events.
