Josh Rock has climbed into the world’s top ten on the PDC Werner Rankings Ladder following his semi-final run at last weekend’s Hungarian Darts Trophy in Budapest.
The 24-year-old continued his impressive European Tour form with victories over Ricardo Pietreczko, Thibault Tricole and James Wade, building on back-to-back final appearances earlier this season in Antwerp and Prague. His run to the last four in Hungary marks the first time Rock has broken into the world’s top ten.

Danny Noppert also enjoyed a significant rise, moving up two places to 13th after reaching his first European Tour final since May 2022. The Dutchman defeated reigning champion Michael van Gerwen and World Champion Luke Littler, before overcoming a 104 average from Chris Dobey in the quarter-finals.
Noppert was eventually denied the title by Niko Springer, who claimed a dramatic deciding-leg victory to secure his maiden PDC ranking title. Springer defeated six top-20 opponents during the event, including Luke Humphries, Rob Cross and Rock, and has since climbed four places to world number 66, virtually sealing his spot at next month’s World Grand Prix.
The PDC Werner Rankings Ladder, based on prize money earned over two years, will next be affected by results at the Swiss Darts Trophy in Basel from September 26–28.
