Stephen Bunting is aiming for a fairy-tale finish to his 2024 season, with hopes of claiming the Paddy Power World Darts Championship title in January. Following a strong start to the year with a Masters victory over Michael van Gerwen, Bunting has gained a massive following on social media, particularly through his catchy “Let’s Go Bunting Mental” hashtag. His fanbase, which has grown through his personal approach to connecting with fans, provides a significant boost, especially as he steps onto the stage at Alexandra Palace, where his popularity is evident in the crowd support.
Bunting, who has previously reached the World Championship quarter-finals and semi-finals, now enters the competition as a PDC televised title winner. His recent success, including breaking into the top eight in the world, has been fueled by sports psychology, and he’s riding a wave of confidence after the birth of his son. With his determination to keep winning for his family and his desire to return to the Premier League, Bunting is focused on continuing his journey toward even bigger accomplishments in the sport.
