Gerwyn Price handed Michael van Gerwen his first defeat of the 2026 BetMGM Premier League campaign to clinch Night Two glory in Antwerp.
In front of over 10,000 fans at the AFAS Dome, Price produced a commanding 6-3 victory over the league leader to secure maximum points and the £10,000 nightly bonus. The Welshman had earlier edged past Gian van Veen and Jonny Clayton in successive 6-5 thrillers to reach the final.
Price made a strong start in the decider, breaking throw early to move two legs clear. Van Gerwen responded in spectacular fashion, firing back-to-back ton-plus finishes of 167 and 160 to level at 2-2. However, Price surged ahead with three straight legs to lead 5-2. Although he missed three match darts to allow Van Gerwen to pull one back, he quickly sealed victory with his fourth 180 before pinning double 20, averaging over 104.

“ I started off really slow this evening, I felt really edgy. Losing last week, you want to get off to a good start,” reflected Price.
“ I know I’m playing well, but you still have to do it on the big stage. Gian [van Veen] had a shot at the bull to beat me, and I could have been going home.
“ I think I’m playing some of the best darts I’ve ever played, I’m just not winning tournaments, but that will come.
“ If I keep playing the way I am, there’s no way I won’t pick up a major title.”
Van Gerwen had earlier defeated Josh Rock and Luke Littler to reach the final, while Jonny Clayton staged a remarkable comeback from 4-0 down to beat Stephen Bunting. Night Three heads to Glasgow next Thursday.
