Philippine darts stars Lourence “The Gunner” Ilagan and Paolo “Pow” Nebrida returned to Manila after a strong showing at the 2025 BetVictor World Cup of Darts in Frankfurt, Germany. Representing the Philippines against 39 other nations, the pair delivered one of the tournament’s most memorable performances.
They opened with a 4–2 victory over Latvia before stunning Belgium in a thrilling comeback. Down 0–3, Ilagan and Nebrida won four straight legs to seal a 4–3 win, with Nebrida hitting all key doubles. The upset allowed the Philippines to top Group B and advance to the knockout round.
Their journey ended in the last 16, falling 2–8 to Wales’ Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton, but their spirited run earned admiration worldwide.
The duo thanked sponsors, the National Darts Federation of the Philippines (NDFP), and Filipino fans. With renewed confidence, they now focus on the PDC Asian Tour and upcoming international events.
