Hunt Stays Red-Hot as Dragt Breaks Through in Milton Keynes

Joe Hunt continued his blistering start to the 2026 Winmau Challenge Tour on Saturday, securing back-to-back titles as Martijn Dragt celebrated a long-awaited maiden triumph at Arena MK in Milton Keynes.

Fresh from his Event Two success, Hunt added the Event Three crown with a composed 5-2 victory over former World Youth Champion Arron Monk in the final. The Isle of Wight star showcased remarkable consistency throughout the day, edging Joseph Heywood 5-4 before dispatching Andy Courtney 5-2. He then posted successive 94 averages to overcome Frankie Ansell and Matty Washbrooke, before delivering his standout performance with a 101 average in a dominant 5-1 win over former World Championship runner-up Andy Hamilton.

Hunt’s momentum continued with hard-fought wins over Chas Barstow and darting legend Steve Beaton, before he sealed the title by defeating Alan Norris in the semi-finals and Monk in the final, closing the match with a clinical 14-darter to claim his 18th straight victory and second Challenge Tour title in succession.

In Event Four, Hunt stretched his winning run to an astonishing 20 matches before eventually falling 5-3 to Gilbert van der Meijden. However, the spotlight soon shifted to Dragt, who claimed his first Challenge Tour title with a 5-3 final victory over Scott Waites.

The Dutchman pieced together an impressive run of wins, highlighted by steady scoring and nerveless finishing, before rallying from 2-1 down in the final to secure a breakthrough moment in his Challenge Tour career.

The Winmau Challenge Tour continues on Sunday with Event Five, as the race for Tour Cards and World Championship qualification gathers further momentum.
